Giants coach Brown delighted with England boys
GIANTS coach Nathan Brown has admitted his delight at the role his two England players performed in the thrashing of France in Paris on Saturday night.
Scott Moore was highly impressive starting at hooker in the 66-12 win over Les Tricolores, while prop Eorl Crabtree took some handling off the bench.
Although neither player was among the tryscorers, they both helped set up several for their teammates.
And with the duo having already told Brown they are injury-free, the Galpharm chief couldn’t be happier.
"From what I saw of the game I thought they both did very well, which I always knew they would," said Brown.
"That was pleasing in itself, but what was also pleasing is that they came through the game well and are looking forward to training with us again.
"They didn’t manage to get to yesterday’s game at Leeds, but I spoke to them both and they’re already fully focused on the Castleford game on Friday."
Although Crabtree and Moore were both in top form over in France, all the talk was about all-action scrum-half Richie Myler who has been tipped as a star of the future after displaying the full range of his repertoire in during the thrashing.
Myler, who has excelled for Salford over the past two seasons, looks to have rubber-stamped his position in England’s team for the end-of-season Four Nations after his performance.
In only his second appearance for his country, the teenager from Widnes demonstrated tenacity, opportunism, creativity and – most unlikely of all – a razor-sharp kicking game during 80 minutes he is unlikely to forget in a hurry.
After seeing Myler bag a 30-point haul that featured three tries and nine goals, England coach Tony Smith was left purring over his sublime number seven.
"He deserves the attention he is receiving at the moment, he is in great form," said Smith.
"And I’m looking forward to him getting better and better. It’s up to him, as long as he keeps his head down and keeps working.
