Hodgson says Giants are still on the up
"I went for the play because I thought their winger was holding back a bit, but it wasn’t to be.
"Even though we ended up losing, I think the game showed we’re not too far away from Leeds.
"I don’t think that’s always been the case for Huddersfield. In fact, I don’t think eight weeks ago we believed we could beat Leeds, but we felt we could yesterday.
"It’s just a massive shame we came up just short."
One of the features of the games was the amount of dropped ball from both sides.
But the inspirational 31-year-old full-back doesn’t believe the heat was to blame.
"It was a really tough contest, and I think that was a big factor," he added.
"There’s no doubt it’s the most physical game I’ve played in this year."
