Nathan Brown: ‘Don’t let defeat get you down’

GIANTS coach Nathan Brown believes the sombre mood of his players at the end of their 20-12 defeat at Leeds is another sign his club is making further Super League progress.

The Giants led 12-0 after 42 minutes, but were undone with a late blast from the reigning champions.

Their fate was finally sealed with a 77th-minute length-of-the-field interception try from Kallum Watkins as the Giants pushed for a late winner.

Huddersfield also created several chances, which had they converted would have given them a first away league win over Leeds since 1959 and their first at Headingley since a Yorkshire Cup success a year later.

And Brown believes the bitter disappointment his players were feeling over the loss is a positive sign.

"The dressing sheds at the end of the game was full of disappointed people," he said.

"But when we first played Leeds I don’t think they would have thought like that, and that’s a positive sign.
