Nathan Brown: ‘Don’t let defeat get you down’

"The pleasing thing is that at least the players thought they had a chance of winning.

"It shows we’re definitely making some progress.

"They should get some belief out of it.

"There were a lot of ifs and buts but at the end of the day Leeds found a way to win and we found a way to lose.

"Yes, to lose is disappointing, but the players all know they put themselves in a position to win this, so they should remain confident."

Yesterday’s clash marked a return to action of Liam Fulton, who hadn’t played since suffering a knee injury in the win at Hull KR on Easter Monday, and a debut for Danny Sculthorpe, on loan from Wakefield until the end of the year.

And Brown was encouraged.

"Liam will offer us some class. He’s very creative and showed some good touches," added Brown.

"Scully also played solid and he, too, could make an impression."
