As well as being a part of a winning England side, Crabtree admits he couldn’t have been happier with his own contribution and the amount of game time he was given.

“To be honest, I didn’t know how much time I’d get,” he added.

“But when I was told to warm up because I was going on after about 20 minutes I couldn’t believe it!

“That meant I was able to give it a really good crack and show everyone what I could do at this level.

“I thought I did well and did myself justice, so now I hope I can maintain my form and keep my place for the Four Nations at the end of the year.

“That’s obviously the next step.”
