Brett Hodgson column: Time to bounce back

SO, HERE we go again, a match against Castleford Tigers.
It’s amazing to think that we’ve only just reached the halfway stage of the season and this is the fourth time we’ll have faced them.
We played them in a pre-season game before winning narrowly at The Jungle in an early Super League game and then beating them in the Challenge Cup the other week, again by a narrow margin.
As a result, we’re sure tonight’s game will be no different.
Castleford showed in both games that they are a very dangerous side and that if we’re not at our best, we could struggle.
But we’re determined to produce a strong performance, because we’re desperate to get back to winning ways after the disappointment of losing at Leeds last Sunday.
The most disappointing aspect about that loss was the fact we’d played reasonably well and felt we’d done more than enough to get something out of the game.
Obviously, the key play of the game was in the final minutes when my long pass was intercepted by the Leeds winger, who raced away to score the winning try.
That was a 50-50 play and had he not managed to get to the ball, we’d have scored and the victory would have been ours. That’s how close it was.
And we’re certainly not going to dwell on what might have been.
We’re also not going to dwell on some of the refereeing calls that went against us, especially the one that enabled Leeds to go 14-12 up late in the contest.
I know some of our fans were far from happy with some of the calls, but we can’t blame the referee for our dropped passes or wrong decision-making.
If we hadn’t done that, it would have been a totally different story.
