And that was emphasised in the 38th minute when Johnson cut through to eventually create the opportunity for Josh Griffin to score in the corner, despite a number of defenders around him.

Castleford threatened to produce an amazing fightback at the start of the second half when quick-fire tries from Anthony England and Charlie Tosh, both converted by Luke Helliwell, cut the deficit to 28-12 after 46 minutes.

But, fortunately for the home side, normal service was resumed in the 56th minute and victory was assured.

Hooker Keal Carlile made it possible, sending out a long ball for centre Tom Burton to collect with ease and stroll over.

Then, four minutes later, Lunt’s sharp break cut the Tigers to pieces and he fed former Moldgreen man Craig Williams who stepped on the gas to finish off, and then ex-Newsome Panther Chappell capitalised on some good work from former Huddersfield Shark Brown to make it 46-12.

A 75th-minute try from experienced Super League prop Chris Feather, converted by Dale Turner, proved a mere consolation for Castleford, with the Giants having the final say as Griffin pounced on a Carlile grubber to bring up the half century in the last minute.
