Giants ace Luke hails success of Super League salary cap

LUKE ROBINSON is expecting another tough test when the Giants travel to second-bottom Salford tomorrow night.

But the 24-year-old scrum half believes that’s a healthy state of affairs for the Super League competition.

The fourth-placed Giants travel to The Willows desperate to get their campaign firmly back on track after the shock home defeat to Castleford six days ago.

That was a game Huddersfield were expected to win with a fair bit to spare, and that will again be favourites to beat Shaun McRae’s men tomorrow night.

But having already suffered an against-the-odds 24-4 home defeat to the City Reds on May 17, former Salford man Robinson knows his side can’t afford to take anything for granted – which he believes is the way it should be.

“In the early weeks of the season, you’d have been bitterly disappointed not to win at Salford,” said Robinson.

“But you just can’t afford to think like that any more.

“When they stepped up after being promoted last season you knew it was only going to be a matter of time before they found their feet.
