Nathan Brown: Hard work is key to solving our problems

Scotty Moore is obviously important for us at half-back, while Liam Fulton was one of the people who was creating trouble for Castleford with the ball.

As I said, I felt sorry for Foey, because the position we found ourselves in was not of his doing.

Lee Mossop has been playing well since coming on loan from Wigan, so why didn’t he feature in the game?

We’ve got a lot of big blokes fit right now, and that was a factor.

But we also didn’t manage to renew his loan until late on Tuesday, and with the Castleford game on the Friday that didn’t give us much time.

It meant we only had two sessions with Lee ahead of the game and we had prepared to go without him.

But he will be back for Salford tomorrow, as will Paul Jackson, who was rested against Castleford.

That obviously means changes from the side that played against Castleford. How tough is it going to be to make those changes?

It’s always tough, particularly after the news that Darrell Griffin escaped a ban on Tuesday night.

I thought all our front-rowers did well against Castleford, but I know how keen Jacko is to feature again this weekend, and I also know how much Danny Sculthorpe is looking forward to build on the start he’s made for us.

His performance against Castleford was better than the one he produced at Leeds the week before, and hopefully he’ll keep on improving between now and the end of the season.

But whatever side you pick, the players will obviously be desperate to bounce back with a top performance at Salford tomorrow, particularly after their victory at the Galpharm the other month?

When you’ve suffered a defeat, it’s always good to get back out onto the field as quickly as possible and try and put things right.

And that’s what we intend to do tomorrow night.

But we already know that Salford won’t make it easy for us at all.

They played really well against us a couple of months ago, although it was another case of us creating a number of chances and failing to take them!

However, it is another one of those occasions when we know we have to put things right to make sure we don’t start sliding down the Super League table.

In that sense, this is a very important game for us, and we all want to see a performance to match that importance.
