Opposition guide: Salford City Reds

It’s a fact re-inforced by his decision to turn down a new, improved Salford offer and, at such an unsettling time for the youngster, this could be a good time for the Giants to face Myler.

SALFORD City Reds remain second bottom of the Super League table with five wins from their 16 top-flight fixtures.

But their results since May suggest they have certainly found their feet after gaining promotion from National League I at the end of last season.

Unfortunately, their first success last month was a 24-4 victory at the Giants, followed a week later by a home win over Bradford Bulls.

They did then suffer defeat at Wigan and a narrow 14-12 loss at Hull last Friday, but the general feeling was that the City Reds deserved to win the latter clash and they would have done had they not been the victim of some refereeing calls which looked pretty controversial.

As well as the wins over Huddersfield and Bradford, they also claimed the scalp of Celtic Crusaders on the opening day of the season, but they had to wait seven more games to collect win No2 at home to Warrington Wolves before pulling off a remarkable victory at Leeds Rhinos on April 13.
