Cause for concern for Giant Paul Whatuira

CONCERNED Giants chief Nathan Brown has admitted he has no real idea when strike Kiwi centre Paul Whatuira will return to competitive Super League action.

The 27-year-old was a late withdrawal from the Huddersfield side that returned to winning ways with the 34-10 top-flight triumph at Salford on Friday night.

While Brown reported a clean bill of health from the players who secured the win at The Willows, he revealed former New Zealand Test ace Whatuira is suffering from severe headaches and that it’s a problem that could continue indefinitely.

“There’s no doubt it’s a bit of a concern,” said Brown.

“Fatz has been getting some bad migraines related to blood pressure, and until we find out exactly what’s causing it he won’t be taking part.

“It’s one of those situations where he may be back next week or he may be back in four weeks, we just don’t know at this stage.
