Huddersfield Giants boss Nathan Brown column

And that’s obviously what you’ll be hoping to see at home to Wakefield on Sunday?

Without a doubt.

This has all the makings of a very tough game, and we’re going to have to be at our best to make sure we build on last week’s win.

I know we won very convincingly at Wakefield the other month, but I don’t think that will count for very much this weekend.

Teams change and personnel changes week to week, match to match.

And, as far as I’m concerned, they had arguably their three most important players missing against us in Drew, Brough and Ferguson.

All three have a big impact on what they can do, and we know that if we let them play, they’ll punish us.

Drew and Brough are obviously major attacking forces for them, and the key is to make sure we restrict the chances we give them.

I’m sure that if we don’t fix up the areas that were wrong against Salford, we could end up on the losing end this weekend.

But judging by the quality of the way everyone trained yesterday, we’re feeling very encouraged.

We gave the players a couple of days off after the Salford game and they didn’t report back to work until yesterday.

And the initial signs suggest the mini break has freshened everyone up significantly.

Does that mean you haven’t yet finalised Sunday’s side?

There are still some question marks at this stage.

We’re hopeful Jammer (Lolesi) will be back after his knee injury, and we’re still waiting for the test results for Fatz (Whatuira), who’s been suffering with bad migraines related to blood pressure.

Until then, we can’t start to finalise our plans.

Presumably, (on-loan prop) Danny Sculthorpe will be part of the squad against his former club. He’s stated this week he wants to stay here for the next few years, have you decided whether to offer him a deal yet?

Nothing has been decided at this stage.

We basically said to Scully come and train for a few weeks and then we’ll give you four or five weeks of football.

He’s played three games, and a few weeks time is probably more when we’ll sit back and talk about his future.

Front row is obviously a very important position in the game and we’ve got some areas in our roster we need to improve.

Whether you are first, second or 10th there are areas you are always looking to improve.

But we feel Scully coming here has given our squad a lift.
