Giants win over Wakefield is key platform for coach Brown
Brown has admitted a lack of composure was a key failing at Salford, and that a repeat against the Wildcats could prove fatal.
"I’ve seen about seven or eight of their games on tape, and they’ve got some quality players in all the key positions," added Brown.
"They’ve probably got the best kicking game in the competition and they can really hurt you if you gift them possession. That’s something we can’t afford to do, and we also can’t be loose around the ruck or else Drewy will chew you up and spit you out.
"We know they’re really going to test us this weekend, and we’ve got to be ready to deal with that."
Brown was taking a close look at the fitness of in-form centre Jamahl Lolesi before finalising his side for Sunday’s derby.
The 28-year-old missed Friday’s 34-10 triumph at Salford with a knee injury picked up against Castleford the previous week.
He passed an initial fitness test earlier in the week and if he suffers no ill effects in training he will get the nod to return.
And the Giants are also awaiting the test result for Paul Whatuira, who has been suffering bad migraines.
