Forward march for Giants

“Keith has had an outstanding season,” he agreed.

“He is a great athlete and also has an ability to play the game, but then he has had that ever since I played alongside him at Saints.

“He’s a tough fellow and gets on with his job.

“But what is happening is that he is now really reaping all the benefit of the hard work he has put in on and off the field.”

Of the derby success over the Wildcats, Anderson added: “You have to give Wakefield credit because they came and did well.

“After our big win at Wakefield they have obviously had things to work on and they did try and do a number on us – to an extent they succeeded.

“While I don’t think either side excelled, they caused us problems and I thought we faced that and defended well.

“We managed to cash in eventually, but I honestly thought it was just a real quality game of rugby league.”
