Five-year deal for big Eorl Crabtree

EORL CRABTREE has today signed a five-year contract extension which will keep him at the Giants until the end of the 2015 season.

The 26-year-old England prop is now one of the hottest properties in Super League and the Giants have acted quickly to tie down their prize asset.

Crabtree has been at the heart of Huddersfield’s rise to third place in the top-flight table, with Warrington and England coach Tony Smith admitting the powerhouse front-row forward was the difference between the two sides in Sunday’s 28-10 Giants’ triumph over the Wolves.

Crabtree still has a year of his current deal to run, which will take in his testimonial season.

But the Ex-Underbank and Huddersfield YMCA rugby union junior has signed up for a new deal now to underline his full commitment to the cause.

"I think everyone knows how much I love this club and how much I love playing for the Giants, and I’m absolutely delighted to sign this extension," he said.

"Huddersfield are my home_ town club and I have always been proud to represent the Giants, especially through an era when we have progressed from National League I to become a force in Super League.
