Huddersfield Giants' Brett Hodgson: We'll stick together to win

With Hodgson having only arrived in England for the start of this season, last Sunday was obviously his first taste of a Challenge Cup semi-final.

And even though he has played in Australian NRL Grand Finals and State of Origin games, he admitted the experience of playing in the last-four against St Helens was on a par.

“The atmosphere out there was enormous, and it was definitely one of the best I’ve experienced in my life,” he added.

“To be honest, it was as big as anything in the Australian NRL. It was very, very quick, hard and tough, and I’m just glad we won the game because you’re body feels so much better when you’re not on the receiving end of a game like that!

“And with the way things are going at the club right now, I always had the confidence we could go there and win.

“We may not have the stars on paper as sides like St Helens, Leeds or even Warrington, but we do have this fantastic ability to stick together.

“That was clear for everyone to see once again with our defensive resolve. When someone makes an error, we don’t blame them, we just stick together, that’s our key and that’s what will continue to bring us our success.

“The pride I feel of being a part of this team is immense. I just can’t speak highly enough about all of my teammates.”
