Liam Fulton set to leave Giants for Wests Tigers

CHALLENGE Cup final men Paul Jackson and Liam Fulton are leaving the Giants.

The duo are two of seven members of this season’s Super League squad who will move on.

Fellow finalist Scott Moore returns to St Helens after his season-long loan.

Also departing are Tom Hemingway, Richard Lopag, Chris Lawson and Joe Walsh, while Wakefield have agreed a deal for prop Michael Korkidas to remain at Belle Vue next season.

He has spent the second half of Super League XIV on loan at the Wildcats, having signed a three-year Giants deal at the start of this season.

Australian utility man Fulton is now expected to rejoin Wests Tigers, who released him to join the Giants on a short-term deal to ease salary-cap worries, while Jackson is expected to join Castleford.

Giants managing director Richard Thewlis knows both men will be missed.

“Liam was always a short-term option for us after the Todd Carney deal fell through,” he said.

“He has been great to have around but he has unfulfilled ambitions in the Australian NRL to pursue.

“I know he has enjoyed learning from Nathan Brown and will continue to play a big part in the games we have left.
