Huddersfield Giants' Stephen Wild delight at Wigan Warriors in Super League Magic

FACING Wigan at next season’s Super League Magic Weekend couldn’t be better!

That’s the verdict of Stephen Wild after the Giants were drawn against his former club in the extra top-flight fixture in Edinburgh in the first week of May.

The Huddersfield back-row forward is one of a number of former Warriors who will be lining up against the cherry and whites at Murrayfield, although it has yet to be confirmed whether the fixture will take place on Saturday, May 1, or 24 hours later.

Martin Aspinwall, Kevin Brown, David Hodgson, Luke Robinson and new signing Lee Gilmour have also had spells at Wigan.

And Wild, who is currently recovering from surgery to his right knee, knows all the ex-Wiganers will be delighted by the draw.

“I think it’s fair to say there are one or two of us who would have picked Wigan if we’d had the choice!” said the 28-year-old, who still lives in the town.
