New Huddersfield Giants Super League signing Graeme Horne is determined to prove himself

GRAEME HORNE is determined to make sure his first season at Huddersfield Giants isn’t his last.
The 24-year-old former Hull FC utility player has today completed a one-year deal following his release from his hometown club where he spent the past eight seasons and make 101 senior appearances.
Horne has revealed he had other offers on the table, and with a view to longer-term stays.
But the former England junior international admitted it took very little to persuade him to move to the Galpharm, particularly on the back of last season’s achievements under head coach Nathan Brown.
“This could be just the challenge I need at this stage of my career, and I’m excited about it,” said Horne, who has played in a Challenge Cup final at Wembley and Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford during his time at the east-coast club.
“Obviously, it was disappointing to be told by Hull they were letting me go, because I love the club, and the eight years there were fantastic.
“But while it was sad to leave, it was great to know a club like Huddersfield were keen to take me on.
“They had a fantastic year last year under Nathan Brown, and I’m really excited about learning off him. He seemed to be able to find an improvement in all the players at the club, and I hope he can do the same for me.
“I did have other offers, but as soon as I knew Huddersfield were interested in me and I talked to the people there I knew this was the only place to be.
“It doesn’t take you very long to appreciate why this club is the Super League Club of the Year, and with the signings they’ve made I’m sure next season can also be fantastic.”
During his time at Hull, Horne played in a whole host of positions.
