New Huddersfield Giants Super League signing Graeme Horne is determined to prove himself

He does, however, prefer to play as a back-row forward if given the choice, and Brown has already hinted to him that he could get his wish.

“It’s obviously very early days. I’ve only met the boys once so far,” added Horne, the younger brother of Hull stand-off Richard.

“But I’ve spoken to Nathan and he has told me he’s looking to use me in the back row, although I think a final decision on that is still a fair way down the track just as things stand.

“After doing very little for the past eight weeks, my first priority is to get my fitness back and, judging from what I’ve seen from the rest of the boys I’ve got a bit of catching up to do!

“So, in the short term, I’ll concentrate on that and then hopefully start to make an even bigger impression on the training ground.

“I’ve only been given the one-year deal, and I’m happy about that because it means I’ll have to work as hard as I possibly can from the start to prove to the coaching staff that I am a good player.

“I want to prove I should be here for a number of years, not just the one.”
