Huddersfield Giants prop Darrell Griffin will be even fitter and stronger in Super League XV

“But now they know us all and what Super League is all about, they’ve adapted our training accordingly, and it really is paying off.

“I’m determined to put this to good use as soon as possible, hopefully in the Bradford game at the beginning of next month (the Giants’ Super League opener at the Galpharm on February 5).”

As one of the three accomplished props at the club, Griffin will be expected to play a major role in Super League XV.

But he believes there are more than enough players capable of covering any front-row absences.

“Although there’s been a fair bit of attention focused on the front-row situation, we don’t see it as a big problem ourselves,” he added.

“Last season, Andy Raleigh, Larne Patrick and Danny Kirmond all had spells at prop and did very well.

“And we’ve all been impressed with the way young Adam Walker is progressing in the full-time environment.

“He’ll be knocking on the Super League door this season, I’m sure of that, so I think we do have the cover.

“There will still be some strong competition for places, and that’s what we needed.”
