NATHAN BROWN is ready to send the same pack into Super League battle as the Giants look to prove a massive point at Warrington Wolves on Sunday.

Huddersfield will head to the Halliwell Jones Stadium just 15 days after suffering their 60-4 Challenge Cup humiliation at the hands of Tony Smith’s men.

They responded with a narrow 38-30 defeat at home to Super League leaders Wigan Warriors on Sunday in a game that could have gone either way, particularly on the back of Andy Raleigh having a try controversially ruled out for a double movement in the 72nd minute when the score was 36-30.

Huddersfield’s pack was outstanding that day, and with prop Keith Mason having been told he has no case to answer by Rugby Football League disciplinary chiefs after being placed on report for a late challenge on Thomas Leuluai, Brown will be looking for his forwards to lead the challenge once again as they attempt to erase the memory of their last meeting with the Wolves.

“Keith has been playing well for us all year,” said Brown, whose side is being linked with a move for Crusaders’ Clinton Schifcoske as a possible replacement for the departing Brett Hodgson, while the speculation over Wigan making a possible bid for their former stand-off Kevin Brown refuses to go away.

“We’re obviously delighted he’ll be available again this weekend, because we face another big battle in the forwards.

“But the pack showed up well against Wigan at the weekend, in what was a good battle between two strong sets of forwards, and we’re looking for them to do something similar on Sunday.”

Back-row forwards David Fa’alogo (hamstring) and Simon Finnigan (neck and shoulder) are now the only front-line Giants on the treatment table.

In contrast, Warrington could be without as many as six senior players this weekend.

Wolves coach Smith has revealed Matt King and Mickey Higham both face the prospect of having to undergo fitness test after picking up head injuries during Friday’s 26-16 defeat at Leeds Rhinos.

Michael Monaghan is also a doubt after a calf strain kept him out of that match.

If the three fail to recover, they will join long-term absentees Richie Myler, Jon Clarke and Garreth Carvell on the sidelines.
