Giants star Michael Lawrence hopes for consistent run in Super League

GUTTED Michael Lawrence is hoping to finally get a consistent Super League run with the Giants.

The 20-year-old yesterday made his 50th senior appearance for his hometown club at Warrington, coming in to replace the injured Paul Whatuira.

But the story of the former Newsome Panthers’ season so far has been stop-start, with an ankle injury and dislocated finger halting his top-flight charge.

And Lawrence is now hoping he can embark on a consistent run in the first team after his performance against the Wolves.

“It was tough for everybody yesterday, including myself,” said the former England Academy international in the wake of the 36-20 defeat at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

“But I hope I’ve done enough to keep my place for the games ahead of us.

“I was absolutely delighted with the way the season had started for me.
