Giants will be at full strength for Bradford Bulls clash
HUDDERSFIELD Giants will travel to Bradford Bulls on Sunday week with a fully-fit squad for the first time this season.
Head coach Nathan Brown has confirmed powerful second-row forward David Fa’alago (hamstring) and promising prop Larne Patrick (knee) will be fit to return.
They will be joined in the squad by Danny Brough and Paul Whatuira, who missed Sunday’s 36-20 defeat at Warrington Wolves, while former Bradford back row Simon Finnigan will also come into contention.
Huddersfield don’t play this weekend because they are out of the Challenge Cup. The Bulls host Warrington.
“We’d like to think having a week off will work to our advantage,” said Brown.
“It gives those blokes who have been carrying slight knocks the opportunity to get themselves 100% right.
“It also means that for the first time this season we should be able to pick from a 100% fit squad. It now gives us the chance to pick players on merit and not have to chop and change all the time.
“Who gets to play remains to be seen at this stage.
“But it will be those players who are the most disciplined. That’s the area that let us down so badly at Warrington, and it’s something we don’t want to see happen again.
“We have to start getting back to working hard as a group and showing the defensive resolve that has made us so successful in the past. That’s the key.
“And, hopefully, the return for us of somebody like David Fa’alogo is just what we need to do that. His return should give everyone a lift.”
