Huddersfield Giants opposition guide: Leeds Rhinos

BEWARE the wounded Rhino!

That could well be the warning from Giants chief Nathan Brown ahead of tonight’s trip to the Super League champions.

An up-and-down season for the Rhinos was typified by last Friday’s 25-6 defeat at Hull KR.

That came on the back of a home win over third-placed St Helens and an away victory at in-form Warrington Wolves, who are second.

But in between those bright spots, there have been some dark displays, most notably last month’s shock home defeat to Crusaders and the early-season loss to resurgent Hull KR, also at Headingley.

As a result, Leeds have already lost two more games in 2010 than they did throughout the 2009 League campaign.

One of the reasons for that has been a crippling injury list.

But with several senior players now returning, the Rhinos will be confident of finishing the year strongly.

KEVIN SINFIELD is regarded as the greatest captain in Leeds’ history, having led his club to four Championships during his time at the helm.
