NATHAN BROWN welcomed the bulk of the Giants Super League squad back for pre-season training today as he awaits further news of injured England star Luke Robinson.

Twenty-seven players signed in for the start of training for the 2011 campaign this morning.

But it won’t be until the middle of the week that Brown and his medical staff will be able to assess the fitness of his six England players, who are now flying home following the Four Nations tour Down Under.

Four of the players – Kevin Brown (hernia), Eorl Crabtree (elbow), Shaun Lunt (groin) and Luke Robinson (shoulder) – have already been booked in for surgery. Leroy Cudjoe and Darrell Griffin are the ones who have escaped.

But with Robinson having also dislocated his left elbow during Saturday’s 36-10 triumph over Papua New Guinea in England’s final game in Auckland, it’s possible the scrum half may now have to undergo a second pre-season operation.

“It’s still a case of waiting to see what the best course of action is going to be, which will be finalised as soon as I get back home,” said Robinson.
