DELIGHTED Giants assistant coach Paul Anderson believes yesterday’s stunning trial triumph at Wakefield is down to all the hard work the players have put in during pre-season training.
A Huddersfield ‘reserve’ side turned on the style to beat Wakefield’s strongest available Super League line-up 24-16.
Apart from Darrell Griffin, Danny Kirmond, Shaun Lunt, Larne Patrick and Andy Raleigh, the Giants fielded a side made up of young fringe first-team players boasting a handful of Super League appearances between them.
But they were able to show their full potential during a heart-warming all-round performance, which bodes well for the future.
“They played liked they have trained throughout pre-season, and it was good to see,” said Anderson, who took charge of the side to enable head coach Nathan Brown to watch from the stands.
