LEROY CUDJOE is hoping to put a disappointing start to the Super League season behind him and rediscover his top form as quickly as possible.
The 22-year-old Giants centre had been looking for a big start to the 2011 campaign after making his England debut in last Autumn’s Four Nations tournament in Australia and New Zealand.
But Cudjoe admits he has failed to kick-on and will be looking to Sunday’s home clash against Wakefield Wildcats as the game to change his fortunes.
“It’s just not happened for me so far this season,” admitted the former Newsome Panthers junior.
“My confidence was really high in pre-season after playing for England in the Four Nations.
“But that has not been reflected in my performances so far. I’ve been happy with what I’ve been doing on defence, but it’s been a real struggle on attack.
“I regard myself as a strike player, and so far I’ve fallen way short.
“I suppose the fact I’ve played for England means the opposition might be keeping a bit of a closer eye on me, but it’s still up to me to make sure I start to turn things around, and the only way to do that is to keep working hard in training and start to play more consistently.”
