GIANTS prop Eorl Crabtree is hoping former teammate Stephen Wild will have something new to moan about by 8.30pm tomorrow night!
Former Great Britain back-rower Wild moved to Salford City Reds at the end of last season to bring the curtain down on five highly-successful seasons in the claret and gold.
During that time the 30-year-old appeared in the 2006 Challenge Cup final at Twickenham and the Wembley final three years later.
He also became the first Giants player to be picked in a Super League Dream Team in 2007.
But even though there were far more highs than lows at Huddersfield for the former Wigan star, Wild earned legendary status for his moaning.
And Crabtree admits it’s something he’s missing this season!
“A few of the lads still keep in regular touch with Wildy and, apparently, he’s moaning as much as ever,” said Crabtree.
“To be honest, we really wouldn’t have him any other way. I’m looking forward to catching up for him after the game and hearing what his latest moan is all about.
“Hopefully, he’ll be moaning about the result on Tuesday, and we’ve already spoken about how annoyed we are going to try and make him during and after the match.
“But I’m sure there will be other things he’ll be moaning about regardless of what happens in the game itself. I just hope he’s not happy after the game, because if he is we know something’s gone horribly wrong!”
Despite Wild’s moaning, he remains a top Super League performer, and was in great form as Salford thrashed Bradford Bulls 56-16 at The Willows nine days ago.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t quite so good at home to Warrington on Friday as they were thrashed 60-0.
