LUKE O’DONNELL could be on the sidelines for up to six weeks.

The former Australian Test back-row forward picked up a hamstring injury in the warm-up to the Giants’ impressive 40-18 home Super League triumph over St Helens on Saturday.

Scans have now confirmed the in-form O’Donnell will be out for at least a month and he has already embarked on an intense period of rehabilitation in a bid to get him back on the field as quickly as possible.

Also sidelined with a hamstring injury for Sunday’s home Challenge Cup fifth-round clash against Catalan Dragons is centre Joe Wardle.

But the 19-year-oldformer Bradford Bulls man, who scored a first Super League try to reward a top performance in the top-of-the-table clash against the Saints, could return for next Sunday’s trip to Hull FC.

Although the injuries are a blow, head coach Nathan Brown still has a number of very strong options at his disposal as the Giants bid to reach the quarter-final stage.

And fans are reminded Sunday’s tie is an all-pay fixture.

Adult admission is £15, with £10 for concessions and £5 for children.
