THE Giants will treat their historic first Super League fixture at The Shay as just another game.
That’s the message from assistant coach Paul Anderson as Huddersfield prepare to host Castleford Tigers in Halifax on Sunday (5.45).
The Giants also entertain Catalan and Crusaders at The Shay to enable the Galpharm Stadium pitch to be re-laid.
But Anderson has made it clear the players won’t be able to use the change of venue as an excuse if they produce any below-par performances during their time away.
The squad are due to train at The Shay ahead of this weekend’s clash, with the Giants No2 feeling everything is in place to mark their arrival at their temporary ground in style.
“Playing at The Shay is a new challenge, and one we’ll relish,” said Anderson.
“And the fact we’re playing there shouldn’t affect the way we perform.
“Regardless of where it is, it’s still a field with grass on it and has a set of posts at each end.
“At the end of the day, the most important thing about Sunday isn’t the venue, it’s the way we play and making sure we’re better than the opposition.
“We know Castleford are going to be a threat to us. They play a nice, open style and we need to make sure we don’t allow them to build up any momentum.
