SCOTT GRIX wants to carry on kicking.
The fit-again Giants full-back was given the nod to take the shots at goal in the absence of the injured Danny Brough during the 28-20 Super League triumph over in-form Catalan Dragons.
Leroy Cudjoe has been the Huddersfield back-up kicker for the past few seasons.
But Grix was handed his chance last weekend, landing four goals from six and has immediately put up his hand to continue against Wigan in Saturday’s ‘Big One 3’ clash at the DW Stadium.
“Quite a few of us practice goalkicking a bit and I’ve always been happy to take it on,” said the 27-year-old.
“We’re no Danny Broughs, we accept that, but I think we’ll all have a crack if we’re asked, and I was delighted.
“I wasn’t happy when it’s been practice, practice, practice and I then go and miss my first two attempts, but it went well after that, so I hope I get another chance.
“I’ve also got to take on more responsibility with kicks in open play as well, which is a big ask.
“Broughy can pull kicks from anywhere, so it’s up to me, Kev (Brown) and Robbo (Luke Robinson) to step up a bit and make sure we miss his kicking game as little as possible. I think we didn’t make too bad a start against Catalan.”
