SALFORD’S players will go into tonight’s game at the Willows with the harsh words of their coach Matt Parish still ringing in their ears from last weekend’s 52-18 home reversal at the hands of Super League leaders Wigan.

Parish, who took the reins at Salford just last month, blasted his side for failing to compete with the Warriors for long spells of the contest.

The former Balmain Tigers player will be expecting a positive reaction from his squad against a Giants side who hammered them 52-22 at the Galpharm Stadium back in April.

And the City Reds will want to impress their own fans with just two games remaining at their historic home before their move to the City of Salford Community Stadium at Barton-upon-Irwell.

SALFORD winger Danny Williams was bucking the trend last weekend as he ran in two tries for the City Reds.

The 24-year-old was close to completing a hat trick but was denied by a last-ditch Sam Tomkins tackle as visitors Wigan piled on the agony as they notched a 52-18 win at the Willows.

The Leeds product has caught the eye since his recent return to the 13-a-side code.

Williams started out with his hometown club playing 15 times for the Rhinos before brief spells with Castleford and Hull – making two appearances with England.
