Huddersfield Giants opposition guide: Harlequins

HARLEQUINS will be hoping to end another disappointing campaign on a high as they lie only above point-stripped Wakefied and Crusaders on the League table.

It all started so well for the London club who led Super League after the first month as star players Luke Dorn and Luke Gale shined for Rob Powell’s men.

But the bubble burst because of injuries to key individuals such as Dorn in a paper thin squad that has been heavily reliant on loanees.

This led to a catastrophic fall from grace which saw them go on a run of 13 games without a Super League win.

But the future for rugby league does look brighter for London after they were granted a Super League license until the end of 2014.

They have so far recruited well for next season, with the signings of Australian forwards Shane Rodney and Anthony Kaufusi to bolster their pack and dual code international half-back Craig Gower to give them a marquee name to play alongside the up-and-coming talents in the South of England.

They go into Sunday’s game with the Giants on the back of a 32-22 win over the Leeds Rhinos so the threat they pose – especially from the spine of the team – could easily trouble Nathan Brown’s team if they are not on their game.

LUKE DORN has been the Quins biggest threat and asset ever since he returned to London for a second spell in 2009.

The ex-Australian Schoolboy star is comfortable at full-back or in either half-back role as his creative spark and elusive running makes him one of the most entertaining players to watch in Super League.
