SCOTT GRIX believes Huddersfield Giants' Sunday home clash with Leeds will be a perfect dress rehearsal for the Super League play-offs.
Last weekend’s impressive 50-12 Galpharm triumph over Harlequins sealed a fourth-place finish.
That means the Giants will be rewarded with two play-off lives.
And newly-crowned Supporters’ Player of the Year Grix knows that could prove vital as Huddersfield bid to go one better than last season and reach the Grand Final at Old Trafford.
The in-form 27-year-old full-back also believes a tough test against the improving Rhinos (3.00) will put the Giants in the right shape for the intense fixtures that lie ahead.
“Finishing in the top four was the main priority, and that’s exactly what we’ve done,” said Grix.
“To be crowned the minor champions would have been great, but any position from one to four is where you want to be, because that guarantees you a second chance of getting to Old Trafford.
“It’s also important that when you get into the play-offs you’ve got some form and momentum behind you.
“We felt good about the way things went against Harlequins and that performance should stand us in good stead.”
