We’re Huddersfield Giants Super League record-breakers, but we’ve got to move on – Nathan Brown

NATHAN BROWN has hailed the record-breaking exploits of his Huddersfield Giants, but has warned them not to get carried away.

In-form Huddersfield backed up their stunning opening-day Super League XVII win at Wigan with a 12-try 66-6 demolition of Widnes Vikings at the Galpharm yesterday.

The margin of victory was a record for the Giants in Super League, beating their previous best of 68-16 set against Leigh in August, 2005.

The win also took Brown’s men to the top of the Super League table after the first two rounds.

But with a massive home test against fellow unbeaten side Warrington – with one win and a draw – coming up on Saturday, Brown knows now is not the time to lose focus.

“It’s a great start, there’s no denying that,” said Brown, who was proud of the fact 16 of his 17 players in action were English, with Papua New Guinea star Jason Chan the odd man out.

“And to win so well against Widnes and by such a notable margin made it even better.
