Greg's red hot! Huddersfield Giants coach hails full-back Eden as next Billy Slater

NATHAN BROWN hailed young full-back Greg Eden as the next Billy Slater after he helped the Giants clinch a fine 22-12 win at Leeds to return to the top of Super League.

The 21-year-old former Castleford utility back recovered from a shaky start to lead his side’s attack by example last night.

Eden was one of four tryscorers as the Giants backed up last season’s first win at Headingley in 50 years with another sweet derby success on Leeds soil.

And Brown is convinced that if Eden continues to develop, he can be as good as Australian Test ace Slater, the undisputed best full-back in the world.

"Greg has the potential to be one of the greatest players in the competition," said Brown, who also felt Jason Chan had his best game for Huddersfield.

"He’s the British version of Billy Slater and looks just like Billy did in his younger days.
