A TRIO of Giants will take on England as part of the Exiles squad – with the second of the two matches at their ‘home’ Galpharm Stadium
Forwards Jason Chan, David Fa’alogo and Luke O’Donnell have been called into Daniel Anderson’s Exiles squad for the two-game series which will start at St Helens’ Langtree Park on Saturday, June 16, with the second match in Huddersfield on Wednesday, July 4.
Fa’alogo retains his place from the 2011 squad, who played a one-off clash at Headingley which the Exiles won 16-12, when he teamed up with David Faiumu – while Chan and O’Donnell get their first calls.
Hull’s Tongan second-rower Willie Manu also kept his place in the Exiles squad for this summer’s origin series.
Manu was originally left off the list announced by coach Anderson due to a clerical error at the Rugby Football League and received an apology for the omission.
The biggest representation for the 2012 squad comes from Catalan Dragons, who had no players last year, and the form of Trent Robinson’s double-chasing team this year is reflected in the call up of Clint Greenshields, Lopini Paea, Louis Anderson, Darryl Millard, Scott Dureau and Setaimata Sa.
St Helens and Wigan provide 10 players between them while Warrington have four representatives, including the Exiles captain Brett Hodgson who is excited by the array of talent.
The squad, drawn from 11 different Super League clubs, can boast 250 international caps and 30 origin appearances between them.
“This initial squad is so strong and has so much experience that I think the series will be a great spectacle,” said former Giants favourite Hodgson.
