Nathan Brown hails ugly win for Super League leaders Huddersfield Giants
NATHAN BROWN has hailed the ‘ugliest’ win of the season as the Huddersfield Giants maintained their two-point lead at the top of the Super League XVII table.
Huddersfield were forced to dig deep to secure their hard-fought 20-6 triumph at Bradford Bulls in dreadful conditions.
But Brown always knew they would have to work tremendously hard to win game No10 of the season.
And he was delighted to get such a positive result.
“We were expecting the toughest of games, and that’s exactly what we got,” said Brown, who felt Danny Brough again made the difference.
“It may not have been pretty. In fact, it was really ugly, although we’re not going to worry about that.
“Bradford’s pack of forwards are as good as any in the competition, but we did a good job on them and ground out what in the end was a very good win indeed.
“It was wet, heavy and muddy out there, and we then had to overcome the sin-binning of Luke O’Donnell, which I didn’t agree with.
“But we came here to get the two points and that’s exactly what we did.”
