HUDDERSFIELD GIANTS chief Nathan Brown has again made it clear Luke O’Donnell will NOT be playing for the Exiles next weekend – despite being named in coach Daniel Anderson’s 22-man squad to face England.
The former Australia Test back-row forward remains on the sidelines with a back/hamstring problem.
Brown is hoping the powerful 31-year-old could be available for the home Super League clash against London Broncos on Sunday, June 24.
But he’s made it clear there’s no way O’Donnell will be featuring against the English next weekend.
At the same time, Brown is delighted utility forward David Faiumu has been called up to the Exiles squad after he was initially left out of the original full squad of overseas stars.
“We were surprised to see Luke’s name in the Exiles squad,” admitted Brown.
“He’s obviously a very good player and, if fully fit, would probably make any sort of overseas side picked to play over here.
“But the simple fact is he’s not going to be fit, which is unfortunate for the Exiles and unfortunate for the Giants, because you always like to see your players rewarded for playing well by playing for representative sides.
