THE Huddersfield Giants travel to Castleford on Sunday looking for a positive return from a ground that in recent years has not always been a happy hunting ground.

Having ended a five match losing run in Super League with home success over London Broncos, the Giants were then narrowly beaten 28-24 at Hull FC last weekend – conceding a try three minutes from time.

However, head coach Nathan Brown felt his side’s performance at the KC Stadium gave them reason enough to be confident of gaining points at Castleford.

“The performance at Hull was a lot better and to be fair for the last two games there has been a big improvement,” said Brown.

“I thought the way we went at Hull was better than the week before because we were playing opposition who are doing well in the table, have some good players and have beaten some good sides.

“Unfortunately we lost the game in the final stages and the most disappointing thing was that we had put ourselves in a position to win the game – and we pretty much put ourselves in the position to lose the game.”

Because of that Brown is not looking at any radical overhaul as they head to the Tigers: “There are a number of small things we need to tidy up in our game, and if we get the commitment then things are looking a lot more rosy than they were three weeks ago, which is pleasing.

“Castleford has been a difficult place for us at times, but not something that we worry about particularly.

“We just need to worry about our form really. We have to look at our position in the table because recent results have seen us slide down the ladder.

“But what we have to do is concentrate on the progress that we have made in the last two weeks.”
