KEITH MASON'S departure from the Huddersfield Giants is in the hands of solicitors.

The former St Helens prop went from the John Smith's Stadium on October 4.

The 30-year-old was not expected to figure massively in coach Paul Anderson's plans following the signing of front row forwards Craig Kopczak, Stuart Fielden, Anthony Mullally and Akuma Ta’ai.

A club statement read: “Huddersfield Giants can confirm that Keith Mason left the club on October 4.

“The matter is in the hands of solicitors and, therefore, the club will not be making any further comment at this time.”

A member of the Challenge Cup final team in 2009, Mason is being linked with Castleford and also a possible return to one of his former clubs, Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, who have made no secret of the fact they are after an experienced prop.
