HUDDERSFIELD GIANTS coach Paul Anderson is confident his players will relish a quarter-final trip to Challenge Cup holders Warrington.

Huddersfield travel to the Halliwell Jones Stadium on the weekend of July 12-15 in the tie of the round.

The Wolves will start as favourites, having already secured the Super League XVIII double over the Giants this season and having also beaten Huddersfield in the semi-final last year.

But even though coach Tony Smith’s team have become the Giants’ bogey side, Anderson sees no reason why the tables can’t be turned in the clubs’ third meeting in 2013.

“My initial reaction when the draw came out was one of excitement,” said Anderson.

“I also felt that way when we were drawn at home to Leeds in the last round, and everyone saw what happened that day.

“We don’t need reminding that our recent record against Warrington has been far from great, but it’s what happens on the day that counts.

“It’s obviously difficult trying to predict at this stage what the outcome might be, because we’ve got a number of important Super League games to play before then.

“But, potentially, it’s got all the makings of a classic cup tie, and it’s another excellent opportunity to showcase the Giants brand to a national audience.”

Anderson’s immediate priority, however, is preparing his side for Sunday’s Magic Weekend clash against Bradford Bulls at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium, when he could field an unchanged side to the one that won 36-22 at Widnes on Friday night.
