DALE FERGUSON has set his heart on leaving the Huddersfield Giants with at least one winners’ medal.

The 25-year-old back-row forward was yesterday confirmed as a Bradford Bulls player for 2014 after signing a two-year Super League contract.

Ferguson knows it’ll be a massive wrench to leave.

But with the Giants set to be crowned Super League XVIII minor champions if they win their remaining seven games of the season and also setting their sights on Super League Grand Final and Tetley’s Challenge Cup glory, Ferguson isn’t giving a moment’s consideration to next season.

“It’s far too early to think about goodbyes just yet,” said the in-form Ferguson.

“There’s far too much at stake this year to think about what’s happening in 2014.

“We’re on course to win the League Leaders Shield and reach the Super League Grand Final and Challenge Cup final, so that’s more than enough to focus on.

“You play this game to win trophies, and that’s what we’re on the verge of doing if we keep our heads down and keep working for each other.

“That’s the only thing we’re going to be concentrating on between now and the end of this season.

“But it would be fantastic to think I could be leaving with at least one winners’ medal.

“The one really good thing about getting the Bulls deal is that it gives me some security for the future, which is important as I’m about to become a father for the first time.

“It means I can focus on now, knowing my future is sorted.”

The Giants, meanwhile, are still awaiting news on prop Craig Kopczak , who is undergoing further scans to assess the damage to the bicep he injured during the 60-16 win over Catalan.
