PACK leader Eorl Crabtree believes the Giants now have the forwards capable of causing a major Super League storm.
And he’s confident that will shine through in tomorrow’s big Super League XVIII opener against former Huddersfield chief Nathan Brown’s St Helens at Langtree Park (4.45).
Saints are tipped by many to win this season’s top-flight competition.
But Crabtree feels that with the arrival of former Great Britain prop Stuart Fielden and Bradford Bulls 2011 Player of the Year Craig Kopczak, the Giants boast a front-row force capable of mixing it with the best.
“I couldn’t be happier with the way our pack’s shaping up,” said the 30-year-old England prop.
“The recruitment of Stu and Koppy has been massive for us, and they are going to make us so much stronger.
“Stu may be the old guard, but his aggression and experience has been shining through, while the talent and application of Koppy throughout pre-season has made a positive impression on everyone.
“I don’t want to fall into the trap of saying we’re going to do this or that in Super League this year, but what I will say is that we do now have the pack capable of causing a major stir.
“That does wonders for your confidence. There was a lot of responsibility on me last season, but that’s being shared around a lot more now.”
