HUDDERSFIELD Giants have handed a three-year full-time Super League contract to hooker Kruise Leeming.
The news comes less than a week after the Super League XVIII leaders gave a similar deal to teenage half-back Jack Miller.
The 17-year-old Leeming (pictured right) has consistently been selected in his age groups internationallyŠand makes the move from part to full time, which Giants Head of Youth Peter Riding believes is fully deserved.
“Kruise has great potential, as those who saw him pre season at St Helens in the first team would have recognised,” said Riding.
“That was a brief taster for him and his training and play for the Under 19s has continued to mark him out as one to watch and deserving of the upgraded move into the full-time environment.
“It gives great incentive to all the younger players when we are able to demonstrate that the door is always open to move forward into Paul Anderson’s squad if the right attitude, ability and desire is shown.
“Kruise has ticked all these boxes and I look forward to watching his progress.”
Leeming is a product of the Siddal amateur club and a former Giants Scholarship pupil.
His next game for the Giants will be on Saturday for the Under 19s against Hull FC at the YMCA (2.00).
Also from the full-time squad expected to play are Jack Miller, Peter Aspinall, Nathan Mason and Jake Connor.
Prop forward Josh Johnson remains on loan at Doncaster with excellent reports coming back from his debut at the weekend versus Batley.
