GREG EDEN knows playing for the England Knights would crown a superb first season at the Giants.
The 21-year-old full-back looks a certain starter to play in this autumn’s two-game series after being named the only recognised No1 in the Knights 19-man squad.
The young England side face Ireland in Belfast on Saturday, October 20, before playing Scotland in Edinburgh a week later.
And after making 27 first-team appearances and scoring 12 tries in his debut season at Huddersfield, Eden admits a Knights appearance would be the icing on the cake.
“This year has been absolutely amazing,” said Eden, who is joined in the squad by teammates Michael Lawrence and on-loan Leeds hooker Shaun Lunt.
“At the start of the season, I’d have been happy playing just a handful of Super League games.
“But I ended up playing over 20 and I’m now on the verge of making my debut for the England Knights.
“At this stage, I don’t know for certain whether I’ll be playing or not.
“We go into camp next Monday, and it’s then a case of trying to prove I should be in the side.
“But I am the only member of the squad who’s been playing regularly at full-back this season, so that does give me hope.
“To pull on an England shirt in an international would be a fantastic way to end a fantastic year.”
