Huddersfield Giants captain Kevin Brown's column: It’ll end up a top week!

IT’S been a funny old week, training-wise.

As well as having a quick turn-round, eight senior members of our squad have been away on England training duty.

So, in that sense, we’ve been rattling around the Galpharm a fair bit, even though we’ve still got a decent-sized squad.

But that’s not really created any problems at all.

When you play on Sunday and then get back out there five days later, there’s very little actual preparation you can do anyway.

Most of it is about recovery and just trying to get a few little things right for when Friday arrives.

The England boys were back for final run-through yesterday, and I have to say it did go well.

At this stage of the season, we’re all 100% aware of what our roles involve and exactly what we’re required to do when we get out onto the competitive field.

It’s all about fine tuning and making sure we fix up any little discrepancies from the previous game.

Last week’s performance against Wakefield was obviously far from perfect, even though we were delighted to get the win.

It didn’t take a genius to work out that we need to improve our discipline and avoid turning over the amount of possession we did.
