Huddersfield Giants captain Kevin Brown's column: It’ll end up a top week!

And a week on the training ground isn’t necessary to try and iron out those particular negatives.

So we know there can be no excuses against Castleford tomorrow night.

Everyone knows how tough it’s been for them with the sad death of coach Ian Millward’s son, Robbie.

There’s no way something like that wouldn’t affect the squad.

With Ian back at the helm for the first time tonight, we fully expect the Cas boys to come out firing and make it as hard as possible for us.

With the quality of players they have, we all know it’s only going to be a matter of time before they start picking up the wins and begin to climb the League table.

That’s a process we obviously don’t want to see get under way just yet!

And with the way things are at the Giants right now, we’re confident that won’t happen.

IT’S no big secret that I’m great friends with Jamahl Lolesi.

Over the years, I’ve spent a fair amount of time with my ex-teammate and now member of the Giants coaching staff.

As a result, I’ve taken it upon myself to organise Jammer’s 40th birthday bash.

It’s next Tuesday, and it’s going to be a surprise party.

Yes, I know I’ve just made it public, but seeing as Jammer lives inside his own little world, he’ll probably be totally oblivious and not realise we’ve got a special event planned.

But even if he does get wind of the fact we’re throwing him a surprise 40th birthday ‘do’, I know 100% it’ll still come as a massive surprise to the man himself.

And I’ll let you decide why!
