HI, it’s Eorl here.
I’m afraid there’s not been much silliness taking place inside the Huddersfield Giants camp this week – and for obvious reasons.
We’ve been getting some real floggings in training, and quite rightly so after that unacceptable performance at Widnes last Sunday.
To be honest, though, there’s no way in a million years the Vikings’ winning try should have been given.
First of all, Jermaine McGillvary wasn’t offside when he was penalised to give our hosts the last set of the game.
And I know for a fact Aaron Murphy got to the ball before Cameron Phelps, who was awarded the score. I was right there!
But I’m not prepared to complain too much about it, simply because we didn’t deserve to win. We got exactly what we deserved from the game.
However, even though we’re doing it so tough at the moment, we have had to keep the Helmet of the Week award going.
Right now, Jason Chan is a man very much in form.
His antics mean he’s kept hold of the Helmet shirt for a couple of weeks, although the second time it was failing to bring it back after the weekend.
But Channy has now had to relinquish his crown to my column chum Luke Robinson, who seems to be getting very forgetful. It must be something to do with all those bangs to the head he keeps getting during games.
The other day, Robbo went to pick up Bobby Fairbank for training.
